Health Care Assistant - Mid North District Nursing
- Mid North District Nursing – Based in either Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaeo or Kaikohe
- Permanent full-time role, working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday

About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant to work closely with district nurses to deliver high-quality care and provide hands-on support with wound care, mobility, and daily living of the Mid North communities.
You will work under the direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse to support safe care for patients and whanau by assisting with delegated activities and administration tasks.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of patient files
- Assist patients to/from clinic rooms.
- Assist to take down wound dressings as delegated by the nurse
- Attend home visits as required to support the nurse with complex wound management
- Stock control of supplies. Restock the clinic rooms and ensure rooms are cleaned in between patients. Delivery of supplies

About the Department
The District Nursing service work across four locations based in Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaeo and Kaikohe, caring for patients and their whanau in the nursing clinic and the community.
Our work can be challenging but is also very rewarding. Our purpose is to encourage and educate families and individuals towards wellness and self-reliance in health.

About you
- We are looking for an individual who is has good communication skills, both written and English
- New Zealand full drivers license
- Computer skills are essential
- Ability to prioritise and demonstrate initiative
- Able to work independently
- Consistently and enthusiastically delivers high level of service
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect
- Whilst not essential, a NZQA health care qualification at level 3 or above, current first aid certificate and/or two years’ experience in the health sector as an HCA or in a related role is desired
