About the Role

This role will see you working in the General Ward at Dargaville Hospital. You will work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse to assist patients to meet their activities of daily living, comfort and safety needs. You will also perform delegated patient care duties to enhance the satisfaction of the patient and housekeeping duties to provide a clean, tidy and organised environment.

You will be working on a shift roster between Monday-Sundays.

About the Team/Service/Location

Dargaville Hospital provides hospital level and community care to the people of Kaipara. Services include a 12-bed general ward and an 8-bed detoxification ward with various allied and community health services as well as other health providers.

About you

We are looking for someone who can be patient, flexible, and adaptable with proven prioritisation skills. You will need to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
