About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to work in the General Surgery ward, providing vital support to the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures both pre- and post-operatively. This includes caring for patients transitioning from High Dependency Unit (HDU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and trauma cases. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be working closely with Registered Nurses, playing an essential part in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring positive outcomes.

 The successful applicant will be flexible, with good prioritisation and time management skills.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Attend to patient needs with compassion and diligence
  • Assist Registered Nurses with delegated tasks
  • Ensure smooth patient flow
  • Maintain a clean environment for both patients and staff
  • Support the nursing team

About you

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

  • Previous experience within a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience working in an acute setting within a New Zealand hospital as an HCA is desirable
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Has excellent time management skills
  • Have excellent communication skills and a solution focused attitude
  • Demonstrates prioritisation and problem solving skills
  • NZ Work Visa
