About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you provide essential support to the service and our patients. This is a challenging yet equally rewarding environment, where you are part of a dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary team who value each other.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with routine tasks of daily living for patients, including personal hygiene, mobilising and positioning patients, feeding patients, and attending to communication needs
- Implement rehabilitation strategies to improve patient function
- Carry out assigned tasks such as ordering, cleaning, restocking, bed making, removing rubbish and linen, tidying and checking of equipment
- Administrative tasks as assigned

OPR4 is a professional team dedicated to providing care for stroke and medical patients. We work in partnership with whānau to ensure patients have every opportunity to participate in rehabilitation and improve their health and wellbeing.

About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- Legally able to work in NZ
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Ability to work rotating and rostered shifts.
- A passion for holistic care
- Excellent communication skills
- Capacity to deliver high quality patient care
- Motivation and enthusiasm
- Proven teamwork strengths
- Ideally have previous health care assistant experience, preferably in a hospital setting
