About the Role

We are seeking an General Manager, Hospital Operations to provide leadership and operational management of the services within Hospital Operations, supporting the Director in the day-to-day functioning of hospital services and contributing to strategic initiatives — particularly in relation to patient flow, 24/7 hospital operations, and inpatient capacity planning.

You will lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of clinical and non-clinical support services across Te Toka Tumai, including the Hospital Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), Clinical Nurse Managers, Patient at Risk team, Patient Transport, Orderlies, Equipment Pool, Cleaning and Waste Services, Staff Residences, Temporary Staffing Bureau, Transition Lounge, Volunteer Services, Hospital Chaplaincy, and other services within Commercial Services.

As a valued member of the Hospital Operations leadership team, you contribute to setting strategic direction and delivering operational plans, including Ngā Whāinga, across Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Your ability to influence across clinical and non-clinical teams will be key to your success in this role.

In this role, you will:

  • Work in close partnership with the Director, Māori Health Lead, Hospital Operations as well as other senior leaders across the organisation deliver integrated, patient-centred outcomes and lead ongoing service improvement initiatives.
  • Lead a high-performing team and foster a culture of service excellence, continuous improvement, operational effectiveness, and equity.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and delivery of operational plans, including Ngā Whāinga, as part of the Hospital Operations leadership team.
  • Help deliver real impact to patients, whānau and communities through equitable health outcomes.
  • Work with passionate professionals who are committed to improving health across the motu.
