About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist - Histology to join our dynamic laboratory team at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Hospital on a fixed-term 12-month basis, working 1 FTE. In this role, you will contribute to accurate diagnosis and patient care by preparing and examining tissue samples using histological techniques

About you
- You are a qualified with current registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, and you have proven experience in histology techniques.
- You have a strong commitment to quality assurance, accuracy, and patient safety, ensuring that all samples are handled with the utmost care and precision.
- You are confident in interpreting histological staining and identifying abnormalities, with a keen eye for detail and a scientific approach to problem-solving.
- You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic laboratory environment, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting clinicians with timely and reliable results.
- You are proactive in your approach to professional development, eager to stay up to date with advances in histology and laboratory science.
- You are adaptable and flexible, able to respond to the evolving needs of the service and contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives.
