We continue to work with others to achieve equity in key health indicators for Maaori, Pacific and communities with health disparities and will continue to develop and implement plans, based on local needs to improve the health and wellbeing of Counties Manukau region. Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

Middlemore Central is a technology driven Integrated Operations Centre with coordination and oversight of resources after hours. We have a vacancy in our team for a Duty Nurse Manager who leads the way at Te Whatu Ora- Counties Manukau District.

The Duty Manager is responsible for patient bed allocation and staffing deployment of Bureau. Duty Managers remain the single point of contact after hours for facilities, escalation and emergency response as well as providing support to nursing and medical staff in line with the vision and values of Te Whatu Ora- Counties Manukau District.                                

You will be an individual who embraces leadership and change, whilst working across services at all levels to really make a difference. An ability to multi-task, with excellent interpersonal skills and a problem solving approach to life, you will be a strong advocate, have a focus on clinical safety and patient care while always looking for the best outcome. As such a minimum of five years current experience in an acute hospital setting is essential

 

Essential:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC
  • 5+ years recent acute experience
  • Strong ability to multi-task
