About the Role
Deliver high quality dietetic care across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting patients and whānau to achieve better health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition practice. We have two exciting opportunities available within our specialist services, one supporting Renal working 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) and one supporting Paediatrics working 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week). Whether your passion lies in helping people manage complex renal conditions or supporting infants, children, and young people to achieve their nutritional goals, you will provide high quality dietetic care that makes a meaningful difference for patients and their whānau. These roles offer variety and flexibility, with opportunities to work across Tauranga and provide occasional cover in Whakatāne, contributing to a responsive and connected service.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Dietetics Service at Hauora a Toi – Bay of Plenty operates across Tauranga and Whakatāne, delivering care to a diverse population across hospital and community settings. The team is collaborative, supportive, and focused on providing patient centred care that reflects best practice and equity. You will be part of a close-knit team that values shared learning, strong communication, and continuous improvement, while working in a region known for its lifestyle and natural environment.

About You
You will be a motivated Dietitian with a solid clinical foundation and the ability to work across a range of settings. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships with patients, whānau, and colleagues, and contribute positively to a team environment. Your practice reflects a strong understanding of the nutrition care process, a commitment to evidence based care, and a focus on achieving equitable health outcomes, particularly for Māori.
What you will bring:
- Registration with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Experience working within a healthcare setting, including inpatient and or outpatient services
- Experience in Renal or Paediatric dietetics, or a strong interest in developing within one of these specialist areas
- Strong knowledge of the nutrition care process and clinical documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work across Tauranga and provide occasional cover in Whakatāne
- Commitment to culturally responsive practice and improving equity in health outcomes
