About the Role
We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join the Frankton dental team. The position involves working on mobile dental units and fixed clinics within Hamilton City and surrounds. You will provide assistance with dental care to pre-school and school age children. Trainings and service needs are sometimes required within Hamilton. Dental assistants support and assist Oral Health Therapists/Dental Therapists in all aspects of care and clinic administration. This position is Monday-Friday with possible Saturday morning work (optional) and competitive salary rates.
Key responsibilities
- Assist dentist/dental therapist during procedures by preparing instruments, passing materials and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment, including sterilising instruments and following
- Support patient care by greeting, preparing and reassuring patients before and after treatment.
- Manage dental records and radiography, including developing x-rays and maintaining accurate, confidential documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as booking appointments, handling patient inquiries, and ordering supplies.

About you
To be successful in this position, the following skills and experience will be required:
- Knowledge and experience as a dental therapist.
- A full current driver’s license.
- The ability to prioritise effectively.
- Good communication and leadership competency.
- Computer skills.
