About the Role

As a Dental Assistant with our Hospital Dental Services team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality clinical support to our dental and oral health clinicians. This role offers variety and challenge, working across a range of hospital and community-based environments.

Your week will include time assisting in hospital theatres, supporting dental clinics in Napier, and contributing to care delivery on the Mobile Surgical Services Bus, ensuring accessible oral health services for our community. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your skills, work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, and make a tangible difference in patient outcomes.

Our Hospital Dental Services team provides specialist dental care across Hawke’s Bay, delivering treatment in hospital settings, outpatient clinics, and mobile services. We’re a dedicated, friendly team committed to delivering safe, patient-centred care and supporting each other in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

About you

As a Dental Assistant, you will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a commitment to patient care. You will also have:
• A recognised Dental Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work confidently in both clinical and theatre environments
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting clinicians across multiple sites
• A strong commitment to infection control, health and safety, and quality standards
