Data Input Assistant – Neurology Research Unit

Join a Global Effort to Advance Huntington’s Disease Research

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the Role

The Neurology Research Unit is seeking a meticulous and motivated Data Input Assistant (casual) to support the internationally recognized Enroll-HD study (A+5727). This is a casual, on-call opportunity with flexible hours — ideal for someone looking to contribute to meaningful research in a supportive, professional environment.

This role does not involve direct patient contact. Instead, your focus will be on ensuring data accuracy and supporting administrative tasks that are essential to the success of the study.

The responsibilities may include data entry for other research studies as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verifying source data and entering accurate information into the Enroll-HD database
  • Supporting clinicians and the research team with filing, documentation, and data tracking
  • Maintaining high standards of data integrity and confidentiality
  • Assisting with general administrative duties related to the study

About the Enroll-HD Study

Enroll-HD is a large-scale, international observational study focused on Huntington’s Disease (HD) — a genetic neurodegenerative disorder. The study collects long-term clinical data from:

  • Individuals diagnosed with HD
  • People at risk or carrying the HD gene mutation
  • Control participants (e.g. family members not carrying the mutation)

Participants are followed up annually with core and optional assessments. The study is observational only — no experimental treatments or procedures are involved.

The data collected helps:

  • Advance understanding of the disease
  • Inform clinical guidelines
  • Support future sub-studies targeting specific research questions
