Specialist Community Health Services deliver comprehensive physical healthcare to a diverse range of clients within the community, supported by strong links to Middlemore and Pukekohe Hospitals. Care is provided in clients’ homes, via telehealth, and in clinic settings to ensure accessible and flexible service delivery. The Southern Service operates from two locations: the Manukau team based on Great South Road, Papakura, and the Franklin team based at Pukekohe Hospital.

Essential:

  • NZ registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practising certificate
  • At least 2 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist ideally with community and/or rehabilitation experience
  • Excellent skills in clinical decision making, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Resilient, resourceful, proactive with the ability to resolve conflict and find viable solutions for complex issues
  • Full, clean driver’s licence

Desirable:

  • Experience providing restorative and compensatory assessment and interventions, equipment solutions, housing modifications, wheelchairs and seating
  • Equipment and modification Services (EMS) accreditations such as Personal Care and Household Management, Housing (Basic or complex), Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management.

Our main hours of service are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and can be negotiated. In the future we anticipate moving to a 7-day service to better meet the needs of our community.
