About the Role

We are looking for a Spinal Surgeon to join a fabulous department in Whangarei Hospital. This is for a permanent position based in Whangārei, with travel as required to our rural in the mid and far north regions. You will be part of a well-supported collegial Department with nine other Senior Consultants and eight Registrars, including three Trainees and four House Officers.

The role includes supervision of acute operating lists – both spinal and general orthopaedic; leading ward rounds, clinics, elective operating (particularly spines), on call duties within the SMO team and involvement in audit; teaching, undertaking research and participating in continuing professional development.
