About the Role
You will lead and support targeted communications and engagement initiatives that increase awareness, participation, and equity in the National Bowel Screening Programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering targeted communication strategies, campaigns, and community events that reduce inequities in bowel screening participation and access
- Creating culturally relevant promotional, training, and advertising materials aligned with the National Bowel Screening Programme brand
- Working collaboratively with regional districts and national partners to deliver coordinated, high-impact communications
- Building strong relationships with community stakeholders, media, and influencers to extend reach into priority populations
- Ensuring all communications reflect Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and actively support equity for Māori, Pacific peoples, rural communities, and other priority groups
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the effectiveness of communications activities, using insights to drive continuous improvement
- Providing high-quality communications and project support to ensure timely, professional, and culturally responsive delivery
About You
You are a confident communicator and creative thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by purpose and impact. You bring sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse communities and stakeholders.
You will also bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Experience developing and delivering creative communications or marketing campaigns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and digital tools
- The ability to adapt your approach creatively within a healthcare or community-focused setting
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively across all levels
- Flexibility, innovation, and a proactive mindset
