About the Role

As our Co-Existing Problems Clinician, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting tamariki and rangatahi with both mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll provide assessment, treatment, with a focus on early intervention services, while helping to develop resources that reduce the impact of health and social issues in our community.

This role is dynamic and collaborative - working alongside social workers, nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, and community partners to deliver holistic, age-appropriate care. You’ll also offer consultation and support to colleagues, contributing to a service that’s grounded in equity, cultural safety, and whānau-centred practice.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our CAFS team is based in Hastings and serves the wider Hawke’s Bay region, including Napier, Wairoa and Central Hawke’s Bay. We’re passionate about supporting tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau through culturally responsive, compassionate care.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification (e.g. AOD Studies, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy)
  • Registration with a national body and a current APC
  • 2 to 5 years of clinical experience, ideally in child and adolescent mental health
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and the Maudsley Approach
  • Strong communication skills and cultural competence, with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence

Experience in co-existing disorders and a DAPAANZ membership are desirable.
