  • Clinical Typist, Waikato Hospital - Hamilton
  • Permanent Full time (1 FTE) – 80 hours per fortnight – Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are looking for a clinical typist, preferably with a broad knowledge of medical terminology to join our friendly team. Previous typing experience, a high degree of computer literacy and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Experience with hospital management systems and the ability to fit into a large team would be advantageous; however, training will be provided. About you

  • Good communication skills, high attention to detail and a fresh and positive attitude
  • Competent typing skills
  • A good understanding of medical terminology
  • Previous medical typing experience would be a definite advantage
  • Sound knowledge of English, including spelling and grammar
  • Knowledge of office systems including digital dictation systems
  • Accurate entry of confidential medical information
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Adaptability, versatility and the ability to cope with change and meet new challenges
  • Willingness to work as a team member
  • Knowledge and understanding of Treaty of Waitangi.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
