About the role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Clinical Tutor to join the General Ultrasound service at Middlemore Hospital on a permanent, part-time basis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to support and develop Trainee Sonographers through structured clinical teaching, supervision, and mentorship. Working closely with senior clinical staff, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centred ultrasound services.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical education, supervision, and mentorship to Trainee Sonographers to ensure successful completion of the Post Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound through the University of Auckland.
  • Support competency development and professional practice
  • Assist with the delivery of a structured clinical training programme
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to ensure staff receive high quality educational input and support

About you

  • Hold a General Ultrasound qualification acceptable for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB)
  • Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Have a minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sonographer
  • Have previous experience supervising, mentoring, or tutoring students in a clinical setting
