Respiratory Physiologist
Respiratory Medicine | Permanent Position (Full time – 1 FTE)
Remuneration as per the APEX Clinical Physiology MECA, dependent on experience (pro rata).

Respiratory and Sleep Physiology services at Counties Manukau are a growing and important part of the Respiratory Service. We have an exciting opportunity for a Respiratory Physiologist to join our Respiratory and Sleep Physiology team, primarily based at Manukau Health Park.
In this role, you will perform a range of respiratory function investigations, including spirometry, lung volumes, gas transfer testing, bronchial challenge testing, and exercise testing. There will also be opportunities to gain experience within the Sleep Service.

About the Role
As a Respiratory Physiologist, you will:
- Perform a range of respiratory function investigations.
- Participate in exercise testing services.
- Assist with quality assurance and service improvement activities.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary respiratory and sleep services.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and competency programmes.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent), preferably in Physiology, Biomedical Science, Exercise Science, or a related health science discipline.
- Registered with, or eligible for registration with, the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB). [cprb.org.nz].
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an Annual Practising Certificate (APC). [cprb.org.nz].
- Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Commitment to completing the approved respiratory competency pathway, including attainment of the Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) credential where required. [anzsrs.org.au], [cprb.org.nz]
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) credential. [anzsrs.org.au]
- Experience performing respiratory function testing.
- Experience in sleep physiology investigations.
- Master's degree relevant to respiratory physiology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise testing, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of respiratory and sleep physiology quality systems and accreditation requirements.
