About us

Mental Health Services for Older Adults (MHSOA) provides a comprehensive service to people over the age of 65 years who are experiencing mental health difficulties and/or cognitive change.

About you

We currently have a vacancy for a Clinical Psychologist in our small, well-functioning, multidisciplinary Sub-acute Treatment and Rehabilitation (STaR) community team.

In this autonomous and rewarding role you will be working in a supportive multi-disciplinary team that works across the culturally diverse population of Auckland's Waitemata region to provide intensive, recovery focused treatment and support for people with complex mental health needs.

Your expertise will shape treatment planning, assessments, therapy sessions, and group work all while offering vital psychological consultation to a committed and compassionate team. 

We are looking for a motivated Clinical Psychologist with the skills to engage in:

  • psychological assessment
  • neuropsychological assessment
  • evidence based interventions/therapy modalities
  • specialist mental health assessment and safety planning
  • specialist psychological consult services to others in the team
  • care co-ordination for a proportion of clients receiving psychological interventions.

This position provides the opportunity to increase and enhance clinical skills across the range of psychological interventions (including neuropsychological assessments) within an established and supportive work environment.

There is also the benefit of a regular contact and support with clinical psychologists within the service group.

Under the APEX collective contract, psychologists receive $2500 to $4500 each per year for continuing professional development which can be accumulated over two years. This offers the chance to attend overseas conferences or multiple workshops, plus books, and subscriptions each year.
