We are looking for experienced pharmacists with a passion and enthusiasm for clinical pharmacy, and for supporting the development of others through teaching. These roles are an important element in the partnership between Te Tokai Tumai Pharmacy department and the School of Pharmacy, Auckland University.
As a Clinical Tutor, you will be responsible for contributing your clinical practise expertise and knowledge to the undergraduate pharmacy programme at Auckland University. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential, as training and coaching will be available to develop your teaching skills.
Within the hospital you will be part of the Education, Training and Research Practice team, bringing your clinical teaching and supervision skills to supporting the on-going development of pharmacists and students in the workplace. You will have a clinical commitment to a specified group of patients, and as a senior member of the department you will be self-motivated, flexible and able to work collaboratively.

In this role, you will
- Teach into the BPharm course at the University of Auckland School of Pharmacy
- Support experiential learning placements within Te Toka Tumai Auckland
- Facilitate workplace-based learning for clinical pharmacy staff within Te Toka Tumai Auckland including working collaboratively to maintain and develop the content and structure of the Rotational Pharmacist Programme (RPP) including use of appropriate competency frameworks, associated assessment tools and standard rotation learning plans
- Promote a learning culture within the clinical team
- Provide a high level, comprehensive and professional clinical pharmacy service to a specified group of patients

Our Pharmacy department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 120 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies and a flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. Our award winning and growing clinical pharmacy service has over 40 pharmacists working across both secondary and tertiary level services.

You will have
- A BPharm or other recognised pharmacy qualification
- Registration, or be eligible to register, as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand
- At least 3 years of experience in hospital pharmacy
- Proactive, adaptable with a passion to teach, support and develop others
- Evidence of relevant practice of clinical pharmacy showing skills in clinical reasoning, medicines management, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Committed to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and culturally safe practice
