About the role:
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and professional Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Liaison Psychiatry Team at Middlemore Hospital. These is an exciting opportunity to work as a specialist mental health nurse across the full range of general hospital inpatient settings, with supportive medical and psychological colleagues.
This position would suit a Clinical Nurse Specialist (or someone wishing to work towards this), who has experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (or relevant psychiatric nursing experience), who wishes to extend their practice; and enjoys working with a wide range of patients and whanau and a wide range of health professionals, whilst being well supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team. Key competencies required for the position are the ability to - undertake comprehensive mental health assessments; work with family/whanau; utilise problem-solving skills; demonstrate flexibility; and work autonomously. Experience in older-adult mental health services would be an advantage. Successful candidates will be supported to develop their skills and experience as required.

Essential requirements include:
- Registered Nurse with current NZ APC and a scope to work in Mental Health
- Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Old-Age Psychiatry or relevant psychiatric nursing experience.
- A minimum of 5 years recent Mental Health nursing experience.
- Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in relevant clinical area completed or in progress
- Current Proficient or Expert PDRP
- A full NZ Driver’s Licence with no limitations
