About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist/Outreach Nurse on the pathway to Nurse Practitioner to join our passionate and multi-disciplinary team at the Emergency Department in Taupo Hospital. 

Providing specialist nursing care and expertise within the Emergency Department, along with providing an outreach nursing service for Taupo Hospitals Inpatient Unit and Birthing Unit through guidance, direction, assistance, and clinical expertise. Facilitating multidisciplinary care for complex presentations to the Emergency Department.

  • Part time Permanent Position.

About you

You should have:

  • Advanced nursing knowledge to conduct patient assessment, care and management.
  • Clinical Leadership, able to undertake coaching and teaching

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practicing certificate
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing inclusive of an assessment and bioscience paper.
  • Current Full driver’s license.
  • Working as an Emergency Clinical Nurse Specialist and starting Nurse Practitioner year in 2026.

Desirable

  • Qualifed Nurse Practitioner
  • Worked as Emergency CNS
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist starting Nurse Practitioner year in 2026
  • Has or working towards Masters in Nursing
  • Has experience in leadership
  • Has experience in Rural Emergency Nursing
  • Has experience with neonates
