Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Fast Track Service
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Emergency Department Fast Track service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative model of care designed to improve patient flow, enhance safety, and deliver timely care for patients presenting with urgent but lower-acuity minor illness and injury.
As a CNS in Fast Track, you will work autonomously and as part of a supportive team to provide expert assessment, treatment, and referral. You will play a key role in streamlining care, ensuring that patients are seen quickly and appropriately, while supporting the wider ED team by reducing pressure on high-acuity areas.
We have a Permanent part-time position available as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency department, working across Monday to Sunday.
Our nursing team consists of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, an emergency department educator, and a clinical coach. In addition to the nursing support, we work closely alongside a team of senior and junior medical staff.

About you – Ke korero mōu
Preferred candidates will have:
A Registered Nurse with strong assessment and critical thinking skills, experienced in acute or urgent care.
Completion of, or working towards, postgraduate study relevant to the CNS pathway (minimum of 2 papers completed, or equivalent).
Proven ability to work autonomously in a clinically complex environment.
A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on patient-centred care.
A passion for service innovation and contributing to improvements in flow, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
A connection to the Western coast of Taranaki-Ngāmotu then we have a desire to train and grow our people
A current New Zealand – Aotearoa nursing practicing certificate (APC)
