About the Role
The Northern Region Clinical Nurse Advisor Bowel Screening, along with the Regional Clinical Lead NBSP, are the key points of contact for clinical advice for Bowel Screening within the Northern Region. The Regional Clinical Nurse Advisor will be recognised as a ‘super user’ with expert clinical knowledge of the programme, providing clinical guidance at a regional level and supporting the Regional clinical leadership at a national level.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) aims to save lives by finding bowel cancer at an early stage when it can often be successfully treated.
About you
To be considered we need the following:
- New Zealand Registered Nurse, with a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Post Graduate diploma in specialty practise
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a colonoscopy specialty nurse or similar
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience ideally as a senior nurse working within the NBSP
- Experience in teaching the management of patients with a positive bowel screening result
- Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge in the NBSP patient management system.
Providing service excellence to our patients is essential as well as a professional and sensitive approach when dealing with the needs of individuals and groups balanced with the needs of the service.
You will need to be self-directed, proactive, focused, and confident in negotiation and consultation.
This role can be based anywhere within the four districts and the successful candidate would also be available to provide training and support for the nursing working in the NBSP Programme across the Northern Region.
