About the Role

As the Clinical Midwife Manager, you will provide clinical expertise and professional leadership, ensuring safe, culturally responsive, and woman-centred care to our Primary Maternity Unit. You will coordinate staff, patients, systems, and resources to deliver efficient and effective services, foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams, and champion quality improvement initiatives.

This is for a permanent, full time position working 40 hours per week.

About the Team/Service/ Location

In our small rural unit, Midwives provide care to inpatients, carry out assessments and respond to acute presentations as needed. Midwives also work alongside colleagues as required to provide midwifery support. This is a role for a midwife with high professional standards and integrity, who wants to provide a service they are proud of.

About you

We are seeking a Registered Midwife with strong leadership skills, a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and a passion for excellence in maternity care for the Far North community.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in midwifery practice
  • Relevant post graduate certificate/diploma, or undertaking the same
  • QLP at leadership level
  • Demonstrated ability in clinical decision-making, quality improvement, and fostering professional development
