About the Role
Right now, we are looking for an exceptional Clinical Midwife Manager to join our midwife leadership team in Whangarei Hospital. This is a permanent part-time position working 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per fortnight.
This role will provide excellent clinical professional and management leadership for maternity services in order to maintain and further develop services that will decrease risk and enhance the quality of care and patient safety.
Tasks include:
- Provide clinical and professional leadership
- Decrease risk and enhance quality of care and patient safety through leading and contributing to quality improvement activities
- Assist with managing the departments financial outcomes within budgeted resources
- Ensure robust processes are developed and maintained to support professional development of all team members

About the Team/Service/Location
The Maternity Services in Whangarei Hospital is both a primary and secondary facility, providing antenatal clinics, labour and birth care, and inpatient antenatal and postnatal care. Join the Te Kotuku Maternity Unit team and be a part of making an important difference within your community.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Registered Midwife and hold a current New Zealand practising certificate, with Midwifery leadership experience including in human resources management.
- Relevant Post Graduate Diploma
- QLP at leadership level (midwifery)
- Minimum of 5 years post registration as a Midwife
It is essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to quickly develop positive working relationships across a wide range of people.
