About the Role

Bring your midwifery experience into a designated senior role providing clinical leadership and coordination for the primary maternity community service team at Tauranga hospital and Bethlehem Birthing Centre. As Clinical Midwife Coordinator, you will provide visible leadership across the service, coordinate the team and support safe, effective clinical practice. Remaining connected to the delivery of care, you will use your experience and judgement to guide colleagues, respond to changing clinical needs and support continuity of maternity care.

About the Team/Service/Location

Working closely with WCF Maternity Services and Lead Maternity Carers to support antenatal, birthing and postnatal care across the community.  You will be part of a wider maternity service bringing together Midwives, Nurses, support staff and specialist services, with strong connections across primary and secondary maternity care.  The team values collaboration, professional development and supporting one another to provide responsive care for women, pēpi and whānau.

About You

You are an experienced Midwife ready to bring your clinical expertise into a senior coordination role.  Calm and confident in your practice, you are comfortable making decisions, guiding others and responding to changing priorities while remaining approachable and connected to the team.  You bring a collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to safe, respectful maternity care.

What you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Strong clinical midwifery experience and proficiency in contemporary midwifery practice
  • Leadership experience and the confidence to provide clinical guidance and direction
  • Ability to coordinate a team and manage changing clinical and operational priorities
  • Sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Midwives, Lead Maternity Carers and wider maternity services
  • Commitment to culturally safe, woman and whānau-centred maternity care
  • Flexibility to provide weekend coverage when required
