About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Effectiveness Manager to join our Quality & Patient Safety Team.  Are you looking for a challenge?  Do you have previous experience in a health care environment, specifically in quality and patient safety?  If you have said “yes” to these questions then please read on!

In this role you will lead and manage the Clinical Effectiveness team, and manage six direct reports. You will work alongside Risk, Consumer Engagement, Business Partners and Infection Prevention Control teams and report directly to the Director Quality & Patient Safety.

This is an action oriented role, responsible for ensuring an evidence based practice framework is embedded across the service. You will lead the development and implementation of clinical effectiveness initiatives and support the team through certification processes.  This role will also involve developing and implementing guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure a coordinated approach to healthcare quality improvement.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

• An appropriate professional qualification / registration and/or significant experience in Health Sciences, Health Management, Research, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience supporting or delivering research initiatives within a healthcare environment.
• Proven leadership skills and experience with the ability to influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and evidence based practice.
• Experience leading clinical audit and quality improvement activities, with a strong focus on achieving best practice outcomes.
• An in depth knowledge of research governance, clinical audit methodologies, and healthcare quality frameworks.
• A strong understanding of medical and research terminology and their application within clinical and research settings.
• An understanding of the significance of, and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role.
