About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest for a clinical director position to provide clinical leadership to our Emergency Medicine Service. This is an exciting role with a real opportunity to make a difference.
The role of the Clinical Director is a position of responsibility annexed to a substantive role of an ED SMO.
The position will lead our group of Emergency Medicine Specialists and a large team of Medical Officers and Registrars who provide 24/7 cover across both sites.
About You
The successful candidate will be committed to clinical leadership and to working in partnership with the Operations Manager and Nurse Unit Managers to further develop and maintain a high-quality Emergency Medicine service. A strong interest in clinical governance, quality improvement and medical education are essential.
To be successful in this role you will ideally need to have at least 5 years’ experience as an Emergency Medicine Specialist and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) with team leadership experience, a strong patient-centred focus and enjoy the challenges of providing services to a diverse community. It is an essential requirement that your leadership and working style models Health New Zealand Waitematā’s values.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate strategic medical leadership.
Working in partnership with the Operations Manager and Nurse Unit Managers this role will provide strategic direction and vision to support the development of service and delivery of operational services within the resources available that best serves the Waitematā community.
