About the Role

As a Clinical Charge Nurse, you will collaborate with the Charge Nurse, Nurse Unit Manager and nursing staff to ensure the team provides safe, effective clinical support and expert leadership within the ward or department. Your role will be critical in managing the day-to-day service delivery to enhance patient experience and improve health outcomes, aligned with organisational goals and standards.

You will oversee daily operational requirements, taking delegated responsibilities in quality assurance and patient safety, while supporting workforce development and contributing to relevant projects.

Important Skills

  • Lead day-to-day clinical coordination within the unit, managing operational duties, quality initiatives, and patient safety measures
  • Support and mentor a team of 15-18 staff members, fostering team cohesion and a positive working environment
  • Conduct performance conversations with the team, leveraging your direct clinical observations to enhance staff development and patient care quality
  • Proactively address clinical concerns to ensure continuous improvement in care delivery

About you

  • Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Relevant tertiary management/health administration qualification and relevant experience in a senior nursing role
  • Advanced clinical practice knowledge
  • Commitment to providing excellent care
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Vision and a strong desire to make a difference
  • Proven people management capability with a focus on professional and team development.
