About the Role

As a Clinical Cardiac Physiologist, you will provide a high standard of clinical care and expertise within Cardiology Outpatients, with a particular focus on pacing and associated cardiac procedures. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will use advanced clinical knowledge to assess, monitor, investigate, and support patients undergoing a range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.

This is a rewarding and varied role where you will be involved in a broad range of cardiac investigations and procedures, including ECGs, Holter and blood pressure monitoring, exercise tolerance testing, Coronary Angiography, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and pacemaker and complex device implantation and management. You will work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, while also contributing to service development, clinical audits, education, and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and outcomes.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Cardiology Outpatient Service provides specialist cardiac diagnostics and support services to patients across Hawke's Bay. Based in Hastings, you will join a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care and improving cardiovascular health outcomes for our community.

About you

As a Clinical Cardiac Physiologist, you will bring:

  • Registration as a Cardiac Physiologist with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Registration with the Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology (NZ) Inc.
  • Experience working within cardiac physiology services, or an intermediate level of clinical practice with a desire to further develop specialist skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to professional development, evidence based practice, and continuous improvement
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities
