About the Role

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient safety and care, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Cardiologists and Senior Sonographers.

The Cardiology Service at Health New Zealand Waitematā District strives to improve the quality of life of people facing risk factors for heart disease and with existing heart conditions. We aim to educate you and your whānau about your heart condition and empower you to manage it through self-care.

Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have an internationally recognised qualification in Cardiac Ultrasound
  • Be registered with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (or be eligible for registration)
  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in stressful situations
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Ideally, you will also have 2 years of post-graduate experience working as a Cardiac Sonographer.
