About the Role
- The position reports to the Attendants team leader. We are a team of 120-130 attendants.
- The role involves walking up to 15km per day, lifting items up to 10kg and pushing patients on beds or other mobility equipment. You need to be very fit to succeed in this role
- All attendants need to be available to work a rotating roster
Key responsibilities:
- Transport of patients, mortuary transfers, blood collection, cleaning defined areas, mail sorting/deliveries, removal of rubbish and linen.
- Provide customer focused support to patients and their family/whanau.

About the Team/Service
We are an essential and diverse team that works throughout the hospital across all specialities, supporting all clinical staff to maintain good hospital flow. We are in the front line to meet and greet hospital patients and are the last to see them out. We are a friendly and welcoming team that support each other offering a pathway for opportunities to work within the Health New Zealand,Te Whatu Ora.
About you
- Excellent fitness to work in an environment with heavy physical demands including frequent walking, pushing and lifting
- The ability to build and maintain positive respectful relationships with customers and team members
- Be reliable with an excellent attendance record
- Must have a full NZ driver’s licence
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
