Assoc. Director of Clinical Training - Part-Time
Te Whatu Ora - Waitematā employs over 8,800 highly skilled clinical and non-clinical professionals and has a total annual operating expenditure of approximately $1.4billion.
This is an excellent opportunity to help lead the prevocational clinical training at Waitematā. The role is important as it is concerned with supporting the ongoing training for first and second year post graduate (pre-vocational) doctors. The successful candidate will continue to build on our strong links to the University of Auckland, Health Workforce New Zealand, Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and the wider Health New Zealand Northern Region.
Key areas of work are:
- Contributing to regional and national training committees
- Strategic work with Northern Regional Alliance
- Training, supervision, welfare and advocacy of prevocational doctors
- Leading and supporting the prevocational educational supervisor team
- Ensuring the quality of on-the-job training
- Working directly with the Medical Education and Training Unit Team
- Overseeing the implementation of community based attachments
- Liaison with medical schools, on behalf of Waitematā
The successful candidate will:
- be vocationally registered and in good standing with the MCNZ
- have a strategic focus and governance experience
- champion the Waitematā DHB values in every day work
- work well in a team and be flexible and adaptive to changes
- have experience with RMO clinical education and training
- be a strong advocate for resident doctors
- be a professional role model for resident doctors
