About the Role

Applications are invited for a full-time position as an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Advanced Training Registrar at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Northland commencing February 2027.

Based at Whangārei Hospital, with outreach services to Bay of Islands, Kaitaia, Dargaville, and Rawene Hospitals, this position provides the opportunity to meet the requirements of the Advanced Training Modules in General Obstetrics and General Gynaecology.

Our Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department is led by a team of nine Senior Medical Officers, supported by seven House Officers, many of whom complete the O&G Diploma and progress into specialist training. With approximately 2,000 births annually, the service offers extensive clinical exposure within a region characterised by diverse health needs and a broad range of pathology. Around one-third of Northland's population identifies as Māori, providing valuable opportunities to develop skills in culturally responsive and equitable healthcare.

The successful candidate will undertake a substantial and rewarding clinical workload, with excellent opportunities to achieve Advanced Training Module requirements while working within a supportive and collaborative team environment. The role also includes opportunities to contribute to the teaching, supervision, and mentoring of House Officers and medical students.
