About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our acute inpatient respiratory team at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
The focus of this role is on advanced clinical leadership and clinical service improvement within ICU/HDU, acute respiratory and general medical services in Hawke’s Bay Hospital. We are looking for someone who has the passion for clinical practice within ICU/HDU and is capable of growing the physiotherapy profile in the treatment of complex respiratory and medical conditions throughout our inpatient services.
Our ideal candidate will be flexible, with an ability to mentor and develop the skills of others. You will need to have strong communication skills and an ability to work autonomously and within both interprofessional and multidisciplinary styles as needed.

About you
We’re looking for someone who has solid clinical skills, excellent communication and a passion for working in fast paced acute environments. Enthusiasm for supporting and developing others and becoming involved in service improvement is essential and will be supported within the role.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- A Masters in physiotherapy or an intention to work towards this is essential along with advanced clinical skills in the areas of ICU/HDU, acute respiratory and general surgery.
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or equivalent
- New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with current annual practising certificate (APC)
- Clean current full NZ driver’s license
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and constructive and effective relationships
- Positive attitude with problem solving focus
