About the Role

The Outpatient Service at Lakes DHB is a growing and changing environment, which requires amazing administrators to manage our referral centre, front reception, and scheduling of patient appointments. The outpatient service has an average of 250 patients attending daily with a move towards video conference clinics and phone appointments to reduce patients travel.

The admin team has 26 administrators who cover these roles and this role is for a full time permanent scheduler role. The current team creates an environment which is positive and rewarding within a mix of administration and clinical staff within Outpatients.

About you

  • Have exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a busy team
  • Have fast and accurate keyboard skills
  • Be adaptable and flexible in work practices
  • Have exceptional data entry skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and stick to timeframes 
  • Have at least 3-5yrs experience in administrative functions
  • Be available at short notice to cover shifts when needed
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth (mandatory)
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings. (mandatory)
