2026 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery- Dental Non-Training Registrar
Advance your career as a dental non-training registrar in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) in the Auckland Region. You
will have the opportunity to work and gain clinical experience in a busy OMS training unit, providing care to out-patients
and in-patients. Non-training and training registrars and consultants will support you as you gain experience in the broad
scope of OMS, but especially in dento-alveolar surgery, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, TMJ pathology, skin reconstruction, Head & Neck surgery and microvascular reconstruction, odontogenic infections, oral pathology and the medical management of the surgical in-patient..
You will have the opportunity to interact with related hospital services including Hospital and Specialist Dentistry (HSD), emergency medicine, anaesthetics, ICU, Head and Neck cancer services, and radiology. You would be based at Middlemore Hospital but work, as required, at Greenlane Clinical Centre, Auckland City Hospital and Starship hospital. You would contribute to the House Officer after-hours on-call OMS roster.
This position is ideally suited to a dentally qualified person, with hospital experience at House Officer level, who wishes to
study medicine to pursue a career in OMS.

Certified/Notarised Documents
We require the following documents from all applicants. They all must be certified/notarised. Documents can be certified by
a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, Solicitor or NZ Police Officer.
- Academic Transcript with qualification of BDS in progress
- Photo ID page of current passport (and Visa if applicable)
- Current driver's licence
- Any post-graduate qualifications
- Current ACLS – NZRC Core Immediate CPR certificate (Level 8 or equivalent), but prefer NZRC CORE Advanced (if
successful, you can complete this course prior to start)
- If you have lived overseas – You will need to have provided police certificates or have started the process of requesting
a copy of police certificates from all countries of citizenship and from any other country in which you have lived for one or
more years within the last ten years. (not NZ as we will request this)
