We currently have a permanent part-time or fulltime (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) Senior Allied Health Assistant position within the Early Discharge and Rehabilitation Service, serving the whole of the Waitematā community including North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney. This exciting service focuses on providing a comprehensive and coordinated home-based rehabilitation service for adults within the Waitematā community and we are committed to providing the best care for everyone. 
 
You will work in an interdisciplinary team, supporting and assisting multiple disciplines including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, Dietitian, Social Work and Registered Nurse. As the Senior Allied Health Assistant, you will utilise your leadership skills to advocate and support the development of other Allied Health Assistants, and you will support and contribute to service development or improvement opportunities. Clinically, you will be implementing prescribed rehabilitation programmes within patient’s homes under the guidance of the inter-disciplinary team. These programmes will be individualised and focused on patient centred goals, and may include exercises or activities to improve functional performance, independence, communication etc.
 
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, honest, and reliable individual. You must have 5 years’ experience as an Allied Health Assistant or other relevant role, proven leadership experience or the desire to develop leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written), strong time management, a high level of competence using computer and IT systems and be proactive in your approach. This role requires NZQA level 3 Health and Wellbeing certificate, or a willingness to undertake the qualification, and a current full NZ Driver’s License.
