We’re looking for passionate and dedicated theatre Registered Nurses, to join our dedicated teams at Elective Surgery Centre (ESC) and Tōtara Haumaru.

Located opposite North Shore Hospital, ESC is an elective surgery provider committed to effective, quality surgical services for patients as well as to a supportive work environment and professional satisfaction for our nursing teams. “Everyone matters “is a value we live by.

ESC perioperative services consist of 6 preoperative rooms, four operating theatres, 12 recovery bays, and small day stay unit for our day cases. Determined on a four-week basis, our surgical schedules are shared by the following specialities: orthopaedics, urology, general gynaecology, and ENT. Patients are admitted on the day of surgery both a day case as well as inpatient basis.

The patient case mix covers a wide range of acuity from simple to complex and even robotic surgery, ESC being the centre which pioneered the robotic knee arthroplasties in New Zealand.

Tōtara Haumaru is a new state-of-the-art facility is being built on our North Shore Hospital campus - overlooking the incredible, volcanically formed Lake Pupuke - just a stone’s throw away from our world-famous Waitematā Harbour and some of the region’s most spectacular beaches. Tōtara Haumaru is due to open in 2024 and will provide up to eight extra operating theatres, four new endoscopy suites and up to 150 new beds – helping us meet the needs of our vibrant, fast-growing and culturally diverse population of over 643,000 people.

To be considered for this position, we’re looking for candidates with minimum 2 years of theatre nursing experience in general surgery, gynaecology, or urology. Alternatively, we would take into account your ability to demonstrate that theatre nursing is the career pathway you’ve always been aspiring to and understand what the role involves.

In return, we can offer excellent teamwork on a Monday-Friday roster between 07:30-18:00 with no weekend or night shift requirements!
