Who We Are

Located near the breathtaking Waitakere Ranges and the scenic west Auckland beaches, Waitakere Hospital provides primary maternity and secondary obstetric services to the diverse West Auckland community. Last year, our dedicated team supported over 3,000 births, delivering expert care to women from 32 weeks gestation onward. Our state-of-the-art facility includes a 12-bed Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), and we work closely with Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs), offering you the chance to be involved in a high volume of deliveries.

We’re seeking experienced Registered Midwives (with at least two years of experience) to become key members of our team. As part of our midwifery-led unit, you’ll have the opportunity to provide care alongside midwives and consultants, without the involvement of registrars. This unique structure allows you to gain diverse experience across all aspects of midwifery care, including antenatal, postnatal, and birthing services—all within one ward.

Our team is close-knit, supportive, and dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a warm and empowering environment. With a caesarean section rate of approximately 24%, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in both routine and complex deliveries.
