Nurse Practitioner - Paediatrics

Permanent, full time (1FTE, 80 hours per fortnight)
Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is seeking a motivated and passionate Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated Child Health team. We are committed to delivering comprehensive child health services that align with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, promoting health, preventing disease, and improving access and health outcomes for the Waitematā community.
As a Nurse Practitioner in Child Health, you will practice both independently and collaboratively with other Nurse Practitioners, Child Health Nurse Specialists, paediatricians, General Practitioners, and various healthcare professionals. The role involves promoting health, preventing disease, diagnosing, improving access, and managing the health needs of children across the care continuum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and communities to promote child health.
- Contribute to equitable health outcomes for Māori by implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
- Provide advanced paediatric assessment and clinical decision-making in both community and inpatient settings.
- Effectively use resources for individualized care, monitor acute episodes, and prevent unnecessary hospitalization.
- Facilitate discharge to a home environment and ensure ongoing care for children.
To be eligible for this role, you will be a Registered Nurse Practitioner (Child Health) with a current annual practicing certificate.
