North Shore Hospital is part of Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand - Waitemata, one of the fastest growing districts in the country. North shore is one of 2 secondary facilities that caters for over 6500 births a year.

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced midwife to be a support to the midwife manager in Maternity. This role will be 2 days a week and you will coordinate a team, support staff with rosters, investigate adverse events and build a positive, supportive inclusive culture within the unit.

You must have the ability to remain calm and professional under challenging situations, and will be expected to manage a team of staff, carry out performance reviews and coaching, ensure safe skill-mix and manage resources, with an option to pick up extra clinical shifts too.

You need to have confidence in managing conflict and resolving staffing issues. You will also be expected to identify and instigate quality improvements that ensure an optimum outcome for birthing people and their baby.
