About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sonography Clinical Educator to join our dynamic team at Waitemata District. As a Sonography Clinical Tutor, you will play a vital role in educating and training future sonographers, helping them develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for success in their careers. This role also includes quality control and maintenance of standards amongst qualified staff and participation in facilitating of continued professional development within the department. Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate the training programme for sonography that is in partnership with Auckland University or other training institution.
- Provide guidance and instruction to students in areas of general, obstetric, gynaecologic, paediatric and vascular sonography.
- Assess and evaluate students' clinical skills and performance and give feedback, help set goals, throughout their training, in alignment with the University or other training institution’s requirements.
- Ensure students are exposed to the appropriate examinations to gain the experience and required examination numbers for their logbooks.
- Ensure students are adequately supported and prepared with the practical skills to pass the Auckland University PGDip qualification.
- Provide students with exposure to image interpretation sessions throughout their training.
- Facilitate quality control and maintenance of standards within the ultrasound department
- Arrange teaching sessions for both trainees and qualified sonographers for continuing education

Qualifications & Experience Required
As a Sonography Clinical Educator, you will have:
- Registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board and current practicing license
- Post-graduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound or recognised equivalent
- Enrolled in a recognised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program
- Competent in all aspect of general ultrasound including obstetrics, abdominal and small parts
- Previous experience as a Clinical Educator or supervisor
