Kiaora Koutou! Nau mai Haere mai!
We have a great opportunity for talented, funny and awe inspiring Alcohol and Drug counsellors (any ethnicity) to join our whānau at Te Ātea Marino.
Te Ātea Mārino is a Regional Māori Addiction Service, who operate under the umbrella of Whitiki Maurea, part of the Waitematā District’s Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Group.
We are a down to earth, close knit, small, but supportive bunch, who care about each other and go the extra mile when needed. We strongly believe laughter and shared kai are good foundations to ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges we all face, in an ever changing workplace environment. We really love what we do in our service, and with our whaiora. We would welcome some more like minded people to join us to reduce the burden of addiction and addiction related harm on the Māori people of Tāmaki-Makaurau.
You don’t have to speak Te reo Māori, but do require an understanding and commitment to the principles of the Tiriti O Waitangi (partnership, protection, participation) and the importance of Whare Tapa Whā , the 4 cornerstones of health, te taha wairua (spiritual aspects); te taha hinegaro (mental and emotional aspects); te taha whānau (family and community aspects); and te taha tinana (physical aspects).
This is an opportunity to experience the support of working in a clinical yet culturally minded team. You will be welcomed warmly by all of our team members, including senior staff, and you will learn how a tikanga approach meets the needs of tangata whai i te ora and whānau.
We are a service in transformation and change.
