About the Role:
This position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleaning services while building and sustaining strong, positive relationships with Non-Clinical Support staff and stakeholders across the Counties Manukau District.
As Team Leader Cleaner, you will lead and support the cleaning team by providing coaching, guidance, and training to staff within the Non-Clinical Support Service. You will champion excellence in service delivery, ensuring high-quality cleaning standards are consistently achieved across wards, departments, and other key areas in alignment with our vision and values.
You will also foster a positive and supportive team environment where staff feel valued, empowered, and motivated to perform at their best.
This is a part-time position working 24 hours across Saturdays and Sundays, from 7:00pm to 7:30am. The role is based at Middlemore Hospital.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, can manage a diverse team with fairness and confidence, lead by example, and make sound decisions. You should also have a good standard of computer literacy and knowledge of safe working practices in this environment.
Essential:
- Experience in a supervisory role, directly leading a team of staff
- Ability to lead a team through change and implement new initiatives
- Experience using payroll/rostering system
- Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
