About the Role
This is a casual shift working position. The successful applicant(s) will need to be enrolled in a Medical Imaging programme provided by a MRTB certified education institute in New Zealand with a clinical placement at Counties Manukau.
This position will be working across radiology services for outpatients, emergency, ward and portables and will support qualified Medical Imaging Technologists (MIT) to carry out their duties including administrative support, co-ordination of patient care, equipment cleaning and setup. This position comes with the opportunity when appropriate to be involved in radiology examinations under supervision by a MIT. You will be expected to develop your clinical decision-making skills and provide high-quality care to patients.
About the Team/Service/ Location
A new Middlemore Radiology department is planned to open in 2026 and will be in addition to expansion of services at Manukau Health Park into a new building which will initially have 6 X-ray rooms, 2 CT scanners, 2 MRI Scanners and theatre imaging in the day surgery centre.
About you
You will have a passion for providing the highest levels of patient care and working alongside professionals to deliver quality diagnostic imaging.
We are looking for Medical Imaging students who are:
- Studying towards a Bachelor of Health Science (Medical Imaging) or Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours)
- Placed clinically at Counties Manukau Radiology Department
- Interested in casual, on-demand shifts including weekends
- Willing to support across any Radiology discipline as required
