- Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand. We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau – the area that stretches between Otahuhu to Port Waikato.
- Middlemore is an accredited, teaching hospital of Auckland University and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 550,000 people. The palliative physician experience at Middlemore is wide and varied providing a collegial and interesting clinical environment.
- Salary as per ASMS SECA $185,000-$267,980 + Allowances + CME.

About the Role
The Middlemore hospital palliative care consult team is a clinically and culturally strong, stable group of clinicians, including palliative care specialists, clinical nurse specialists, a senior registrar, and a part time pharmacist. The service is based at the Middlemore hospital campus.
We liaise closely with community services including Totara and Franklin Hospices and their community services, primary and secondary care, locality-based community teams, aged residential care facilities and non-government organisations (NGOs). We provide specialist palliative care support for the nurse-led Franklin Hospice team.
About you
· You should be either registered or are eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Eligibility can be obtained by visiting www.mcnz.org.nz
· Previous training and experience as a consultant in a Palliative Care Service
