The Opportunity:

Gain valuable real-life experience & insights through the role of Section Head Physiotherapist. We are seeking an experienced New Zealand registered Physiotherapist with a wide variety of clinical expertise to lead the Acute Medical and Neurology Physiotherapy team. 

As the Section Head, you will be the lead driver of this group of professionals to ensure that service expectations are met with a focus on quality person-centred care. You will be part of a team that takes an inter-disciplinary approach to care, working in partnership with other clinical leaders, Section Heads and the Operations Manager to ensure a high standard of care is provided at all times. This is a unique opportunity to extend and develop your line management and leadership experience, in addition to managing a clinical caseload and participating in an on-call roster.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, you will bring an innovative approach to resolving issues and work well in an interdisciplinary team environment. You will have extensive experience in the leadership, supervision and development of staff. You will have a strong clinical background in acute medical and/or neuro physiotherapy within a busy hospital environment.

We provide and support regular professional development opportunities, practice review, performance development planning and regular professional supervision.

Essential:

• NZPT with current annual practicing certificate
• Extensive clinical experience and knowledge of acute physiotherapy practice
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience and knowledge of clinical practice, preferably in an acute setting
• Cultural awareness and understanding
• Clinical Leadership and/or management experience
• Clinical teaching experience

Desired:

• Post Grad qualification in management
• Post Grad certificate in Clinical Teaching
• Graduate certificate in Professional Supervision
