We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato. Radiology services are located at Middlemore Hospital and the new Manukau Health Park facility (Project Overview).
We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. It is an accredited teaching hospital of Auckland University and University of Otago and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 600,000 people.
The Opportunity – New Purpose-Built Facilities
We are currently looking for part time or full time Radiologists to join our team. You will be working with a dedicated and friendly team of more than 45 Radiologists, supported by the wider team of over 170 staff, including Registrars, Sonographers, Radiographers, Nurses, RIS-PACS and administrative support staff.
We perform over 230,000 procedures a year and we pride ourselves for our can-do attitude, excellent training, and very friendly staff.
In 2026 Counties Manukau will be opening new radiology departments at Middlemore hospital and Manukau Health Park (MHP). From May 2026, Middlemore hospital will be commissioning a second interventional radiology purpose-built radiology suite in addition to a multipurpose fluoroscopy room. At MHP, we will be expanding from the current 5 X-rays and 3 ultrasound rooms to 2 CT, 2 MRI, 6 X-ray and 5 Ultrasound rooms in 2026. In addition, a Fluoroscopy room and a third CT is planned at MHP from 2027. This purpose-built facility will be one of the largest expansions in public Radiology in NZ.
